Love is the fundamental motive for Christian stewardship.  Our giving may be systematic, proportionate, and generous, but if not motivated by love it is not Christian giving.  Paul wrote, “If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing” (1 Corinthians 13:3).  The Pharisees gave large gifts, yet their gifts were not acceptable to the Lord. Jesus sums up all the Law, which includes stewardship, as love to God and one’s neighbor.  The perfect relationship that should exist between us as stewards and God is expressed in the word “love.”  It also expresses the relationship that should exist between Christian stewards and their neighbors.  For more information about stewardship, please contact Max Buban at maxmbuban82@gmail.com.
